🥘 Recipe Ingredients
You’ll need the following ingredients to make this amazing Christmas tree dip recipe.

📝 Ingredient Notes
- Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes - I usually find these with all the other boxes of Little Debbie treats, or sometimes on an end cap, or it's own special display with the other holiday cakes.
- cream cheese - let this sit out and get soft so it will be easier to mix
- whipped topping, or Cool Whip - found in the freezer section near the ice cream. Also let this sit out and get soft so it will be easier to mix.
- sprinkles - use any festive sprinkles you like, red sprinkles, green sprinkles or a combination of both
- salt - I missed this in my picture, and it may sound like an odd ingredient, but my grandma always taught me to put a little salt even in sweet recipes. It enhances the flavor of everything!
📋 How to Make the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Dip Step-By-Step
Here are some visual instructions. Full instructions with exact ingredients can be found in the Recipe Card below.
In a large bowl, add the cream cheese, half and half, vanilla extract, salt and Christmas Tree cakes.

Mix all ingredients until blended and you have a creamy texture. I like to use a stand mixer, or you can use a hand mixer. Fold in the whipped topping.

Mix until all is combined well. Place dip in a festive serving bowl and top with your favorite Christmas sprinkles and an additional whole Christmas tree cake, or broken up cake pieces.

Serve with your favorite dippers. I like strawberries, vanilla wafers and cinnamon graham crackers.

💡 Recipe Tips
Be sure to start looking for these seasonal snack cakes in early November. I know in my area it's a very popular snack cake and they seem to sell out quickly, so I stock up early.
Leave the cream cheese and cool whip out for about an hour before mixing so they will come to room temperature. It will be easier for everything to blend together and you won't have chunks of unmixed cream cheese and cool whip.
Make Ahead Tip
You can make this cream cheese dip up to 2 days in advance, just leave off the sprinkles until before serving. They will melt into the dip and the color of the sprinkles will bleed. Leave the dip out for about an hour before serving so it will soften for easy dipping.
🫙 Storage & Reheating
Storage: Store this festive dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Freezing: I don't recommend freezing due to the cream cheese in the dip.
🧂Additions & Substitutions
Additions:
- white chocolate chips
- chopped pecans or other nuts
- mini christmas M&M's
Substitutions:
- Try the chocolate Christmas Tree cakes or the Little Debbie zebra cakes
- Other great options for dippers: any fresh fruit, apple slices, candy canes, animal crackers, Pepperidge Farm holiday collection cookies, gingerbread cookies, shortbread cookies, sugar cookies, pretzels
❓Your questions answered
Try any other packaged snack cake you can find and it will work fine. There are Christmas tree brownies, Christmas tree cake donuts, oatmeal pies or Swiss Rolls. All would work in this recipe.
