Chocolate Pots de Crème

The most amazing chocolate dessert that's like pudding, but sooo much better! Made with only FIVE ingredients and takes only TEN minutes to make! It's unbelievably quick and easy and will impress everyone!

  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 7 ounces dark chocolate
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar


  • Heat cream in a medium saucepan until hot, but not boiling.
  • Add sugar to the hot cream and stir with a whisk to blend.
  • Remove pan from the heat and let cool for one minute.
  • Add chocolate and stir with a whisk until melted.
  • Add egg yolks and stir with a whisk until blended.
  • Add butter and stir with a whisk until blended.
  • Pour chocolate into small glass jars, ramekins or espresso cups.



  1. Make sure to use whipping cream and not heavy whipping cream. Heavy whipping cream has more fat, and can make the dessert too heavy tasting.
  2. When choosing a chocolate for this recipe, make sure it's a dark chocolate with 60% or more cacao. I like to use this brand for baking.
  3. Wait just until serving before topping with powdered sugar and fresh fruit. If you do it in advance, the powdered sugar may "melt" and it just won't look as pretty.
